Personal Statement

I am committed to providing evidence-based, multi-disciplinary care to create a truly individualized treatment plan tailored to each patient’s unique needs and priorities. This includes medication optimization, physical rehabilitation, alternative/complementary therapies, and a wide repertoire of state of the art procedures. Recognizing the complex nature of pain and its impact on overall wellbeing, I am focused on not only optimizing pain control, but enhancing quality of life, function, and psychological health.

Biographical Info

Dr. Daniel Pak is a double-board certified physician in anesthesiology and pain medicine who specializes in interventional pain management. His expertise is in the management of complex back/neck pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, cancer pain, vertebral compression fractures, arthritis, and neuropathies. His clinical focus revolves around minimally invasive treatments, including injection therapies, vertebral augmentation, spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation, intrathecal pump therapy, and the MILD© procedure (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression). He has also published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, and given national lectures on the topics of intrathecal pump therapy and neuromodulation.

Dr. Pak earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his residency in anesthesiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ Medical Center, where he was the recipient of the Sadel Wortis Klein Award for Excellence in Clinical Performance. He then completed a pain medicine fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School and afterwards joined the pain faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where he served as the Director of the Intrathecal Drug Delivery Program and worked closely with patients at the Mass General Cancer Center. He also served as the Director of Resident Education in Pain Medicine and was given the Best Teaching Faculty award in 2019.

Currently, Dr. Pak is the Associate Program Director, Tri-Institutional Pain Fellowship and the Director of Practice Innovation for the Division of Pain Management.
