Personal Statement

Despina Hatziergati, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at New York Presbyterian Hospital specializing in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders in children, adolescents and adults. She is currently the Unit Chief of the Children’s Inpatient Unit and prior to that, she was the Unit Chief of the Adolescent Unit. She teaches and supervises medical students, general residents and fellows in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  In addition, Dr. Hatziergati works with children, adolescents and adults in her faculty practice.

Biographical Info

Dr. Hatziergati received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Chemistry from SUNY, New Paltz and her Medical Degree from the University of Ioannina, Medical School, Greece.

Dr. Hatziergati completed her residency in General Psychiatry at the Medical College of Pennsylvania / Hahnemann University.

She trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian/ ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ Medical Center, Westchester Division, in 2002.

She is interested in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety, mood disorders, autism,  parenting issues, family therapy.

Dr. Hatziergati is available for diagnostic consultations, psychotherapy and psychopharmacologic management.
