About Eralda Mema, M.D.
Eralda Mema, MD is a radiologist specializing in Breast Imaging. She is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ and an Assistant Attending Radiologist at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ Campus.
Dr. Mema earned her B.A. in Biology from Binghamton University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2008. She then earned her M.D. at Stony Brook University, School of Medicine in 2013.
Following an internship in Internal Medicine at New York Hospital Queens, Dr. Mema served as a resident in Diagnostic Radiology from 2014 to 2018 at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University where she was presented the Radiology Resident Research Award in 2018. She then completed her fellowship in Breast Imaging at New York University Langone Medical Center from 2018 to 2019. Dr. Mema joined the faculty at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ in July 2019 as Assistant Attending of Radiology.
Dr. Mema’s clinical expertise is in Women’s Imaging. She interprets a variety of studies including mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and performs breast interventional procedures including stereotactic breast biopsies as well as ultrasound and MRI guided breast biopsies.
Dr. Mema’s research interests include breast MRI, specifically the role of background parenchymal enhancement in breast cancer subtypes and the utility of positron emission tomography (PET) in breast imaging. In addition to clinical and research activities, Dr. Mema is active in international radiology outreach and in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.
