Personal Statement

James Satterfield, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ and Attending Surgeon and Medical Director of the Center for Wound Healing at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.

A board certified surgeon, Dr. Satterfield specializes in general surgery, breast surgery, and laparoscopic surgery for hernia repair, colon resection,  and cholecystectomies. He performs volunteer community service and has traveled internationally to provide surgical care and education to underserved populations. 

Dr. Satterfield earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and remained there to complete his residency in general surgery and post-graduate year in cardiothoracic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He went on to complete an additional year of advanced training at Booth Memorial Hospital.
