Biographical Info

Dr. Keith LaScalea is a graduate of SUNY – Binghamton and University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He has been on faculty in the Division of Internal Medicine at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ for nearly two decades. In addition to his busy clinical practice as a primary care physician he is involved in teaching, curriculum development, and holds multiple roles in the college administration.

He teaches in premedical, undergraduate, and continuing medical education. He directs the Lunchbox CME Series for the Primary Care Division of ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ.

He has worked in clinical care, teaching, and public health efforts in Tanzania, Ghana and Zambia since his residency.

Dr. LaScalea has been involved with MSSNY since 2010, was a former Chair of the Public Health and Education committee at the House of Delegates and has been on the Board of Directors of New York County Medical Society since 2014. 

He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. His clinical interests include doctor-patient communication, shared decision making, preventive medicine, cardiovascular disease, HIV, and emerging infectious diseases.
