Personal Statement

Dr. Kenneth Hung is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ, and an Attending Psychiatrist with the NewYork-Presbyterian Telepsychiatry Consultation Liaison Service. He specializes in Emergency Psychiatry and also maintains an outpatient faculty practice specializing in adult mood and anxiety disorders.

Dr. Hung firmly believes in treating each patient as an individual asopposed to a diagnosis. As such, he feels it is very important to attend to the complexities and nuances of each patient’s story, and to come up with an individualized treatment plan that best suits the needs of each patient. While Dr. Hung offers medication treatment when it is indicated, he believes in an integrated approach to strengthening and sustaining improvements in mental health, and provides psychotherapy as part of the treatment or in conjunction with the patient’s own therapist. He also encourages his patients to take a broader approach to their mental health through the maintenance of physical health, a work-life balance, and the strengthening of social supports.
