Eligibility and Risk Assessment
If you are at increased risk for lung cancer, you may be eligible for low-dose computed tomography (CT) lung cancer screening. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends annual screening for lung cancer with low-dose CT for individuals who meet all of the following criteria:
-
Ages 50 to 80
-
Current or former smokers who have quit within the last 15 years
-
History of heavy smoking, equivalent to at least 20 pack-years. A pack-year equals the number of packs smoked per day times the number of years smoked. For example, one pack smoked per day for 30 years equals 30 pack-years.
-
No signs or symptoms of lung cancer
Our program can provide an individualized assessment of your risk to help guide your decision about whether to undergo a low-dose CT screening.
