About Matthew S. Simon, M.D., MS
Dr. Simon is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases and an Associate Professor of Clinical Population Health Sciences at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ. He is the Chief Hospital Epidemiologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ and the Deputy Medical Director for Infection Prevention & Control at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (all campuses).
Dr. Simon received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed residency training in internal medicine, preventive medicine and infectious diseases fellowship at New York-Presbyterian/ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ. Dr. Simon has been the physician leader for the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital since 2016 and was the Associate Hospital Epidemiologist at NYP/ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ from 2014-2024. In addition, he served as the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program Director from 2020-2024.
Dr. Simon is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. His academic interests include healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial stewardship and cost-effectiveness analysis.
