About Neal Lindeman, MD
Dr. Lindeman obtained his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Williams College. He obtained his M.D. at the University of Rochester and trained in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of California in San Francisco. Neal completed his fellowship in molecular genetic pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Since graduating with fellowship, Dr. Lindeman was an attending pathologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in clinical chemistry and molecular diagnostics. Neal’s research focuses on cancer diagnostics and genomics.
Neal has served in leadership roles in many prestigious pathology societies, including vice chair of the CAP molecular oncology committee. He is also a past president of the elite academic laboratory medicine society, ACLPS. He has multiple publications in prominent journals (e.g., Science, Nature Medicine, Nature Genetics, Cancer Cell). He has received multiple grants and awards and he has given a plethora of local, national, and international presentations. At his home institution, Dr. Lindeman has won many teaching awards and has selflessly dedicated his time to mentorship and education. His innovative service work has included the assay development of many molecular assays.
Dr. Lindeman will be the Vice Chair of Laboratory Medicine and MolecularPathology in the Department of Pathology. He will oversee the faculty in laboratory medicine and molecular pathology and to create an integrated molecular pathology program. He will also oversee innovation, consolidation, and integration in the NYP/WC Central Laboratories. He will train the house staff and medical students in clinical chemistry and molecular pathology.
