Lipid Disorders – Pediatric
The CLCC Pediatric Lipid Control Center, established in 1989, provides diagnostic evaluation and therapy for children with lipid disorders.
The emphasis of the pediatric program is education in diet and exercise. Medications are used only when diet and exercise are not effective. Parents are encouraged to participate and are essential in the treatment of younger children.
Pediatric Patients Of The CLCC Receive:

This includes the use of safe, over-the-counter supplements such as plant soluble fiber (psyllium) and plant sterols.
- Children with the rare genetic disorder, homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, may be referred to discuss specialized therapy available at The Rogosin Institute, such as LDL-apheresis and liver transplant.

- Weight, height, blood pressure
- Review of repeat fasting lipid profiles and other tests
