About Sarah Rutherford, M.D.
My first priority is the patient sitting in front of me. I have a longstanding interest in cancer care and have been specifically focused on lymphoma since my father was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma when I was a medical student. At ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ, our experienced team of lymphoma specialists works together to determine the most appropriate therapy for each individual patient. Our group has played a key role in the development of many new therapies approved for lymphoma in recent years. As a result, our patients have early access to new and promising lymphoma treatments. We are fortunate to have a strong team of physician assistants, nurses, medical technicians, pharmacists, and administrative staff. This environment enables me to provide my patients with the best possible level of care.
Dr. Sarah Rutherford is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She completed Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ Medical College.
Dr. Rutherford has clinical expertise in lymphoma. Her research focuses on improving outcomes in patients with aggressive lymphomas. She has a particular interest in helping patients to have an accurate understanding of their diagnosis. She has received honors from ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ Medical College and the American Society of Hematology, and support from the New York State Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program for her research in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
