Biographical Info

Valentina Mocchetti MS, CCC-SLP, BCS-S is a speech-language pathologist and Board-Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. She obtained an undergraduate degree in biology at Georgetown University where she was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute research scholar and earned a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Teacher’s College, Columbia University.  She completed a clinical fellowship in swallowing and swallowing disorders at the University of Wisconsin- Madison, Voice and Swallowing Clinics. Valentina has worked in both inpatient acute care and outpatient hospital settings with adults with swallowing and communication impairments.  She has specialized in the evaluation and rehabilitation of swallowing disorders in adults across a diverse range of complex medical diagnoses. Valentina has advanced training in instrumental swallowing assessments including video fluoroscopic swallowing study/modified barium swallow study (VFSS /MBS), flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) and high-resolution pharyngeal manometry (HRPM).  She has presented clinical and research-related work at both national and international levels and is active in a variety of research projects at the Sean Parker Institute.  Valentina holds a New York State license in speech-language pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), Dysphagia Research Society (DRS), and the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (ABSSD).  Valentina is committed to delivering personalized care using evidence-based methods, with the goal of improving patient experience and enhancing quality of life.
